Thrive Photography Instructional Video : DSLR Cameras : Automatic to Manual

Do you have a DSLR camera? Have you set it to automatic and been less than pleased with the results? Have dark, blurry, out of focus photos left you frustrated and feeling like you have wasted your money? Have you been shooting for a while and want to learn more? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this video is for you! We have created a two hour, informative and fun instructional video that is designed to teach you the most important manual functions of your camera. You will finally be able to take control of your camera and will gain the knowledge and confidence to go out and capture amazing photos!

View the short trailer below to find out more, get excited, and be ready to learn!

This is the first in what we hope will be a series of instructional videos that will help take your photography to the next level. After two years of teaching classes in both San Diego, CA and Nashville, TN, we have seen just how excited people get when their camera is a less scary, frustrating piece of technology and more of a means to make art and memories. We have had so much fun teaching that we created this video to share with as many people as we can! You will get two hours of classroom instruction, photograph examples, and even some live shooting to help guide you through each of these concepts.

In this video you will find easy to understand teaching on the following topics:

-Manual Exposure (ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed & reading your light meter)
-Focus system (How to navigate your autofocus system to get tack sharp images)
-Composition
-Natural Light
-White Balance
-Metering
-Live Shoot
-RAW vs JPEG

If you are looking to take your photography to the next level, this will not disappoint! You can watch once or time and time again, work at your own pace, and see results that you will be thrilled about!

ANDERSON FAMILY . FROM CALIFORNIA TO NASHVILLE

I have moved a total of 6 times in about 12 years, each time for a different reason, each time bringing different emotions of expecatation, uncertainty, adventure and anticipation.  It seems that with each move, though it is at times a struggle to reestablish a life and build a new community, that there have been reminders along the way that this really is a small world.  The Anderson Family is case in point.  It turns out that they lived just about two miles away from us in California, yet we never met.  It took moving to Nashville and being connected through mutual friends to find these folks and let me say I'm sure glad that I did.  They are a fun loving, warm group and just an all around beautiful family, which I hope is shown in this session.  Enjoy!

NEW YORK CITY, USA . a trip

Since moving to Nashville in April, the majority of my time has been spent rebuliding my photography business, getting settled into a new home, entertaining visitors and doing some traveling with my husband.  We had the opportunity to spend some time in NYC this fall and this is a not so small look at our trip through the lens of my trusty Fuji X-Pro 1, my new favorite travel companion.  My photography is more about telling a whole story, so my posts will rarely be short.  My hope is that you can piece together our trip as a result.  Here it is, NYC, through my lens.

LONDON & CASH . BIG & LITTLE (IN BW)

Sharing more from my time in San Diego a couple weeks back.  If you have followed here at all, you have most certainly seen these faces.  You will hear me say often, that what I love most about this job is that I am blessed to call so many of my clients friends as they allow me in to capture their family as they grow.  I adore these kids more than words can say and their mother has become somebody I call a dear friend.  What more could I ask for?  Thanks to Julie, Keir, London & Cash for letting me in, yet again.  I just love this family to pieces!

ALI BROTHERS

It has been great to be back in San Diego for the week, made even better by spending time with families like this. I have grown to absolutely adore this family since getting to know them when Nico was just a little one.  Now with the addition of his little brother, Julian, this family has once again grown more amazing.  Seriously, life - the Ali family would just plain have a hole.  Love you guys!
